Epilepsy South Africa – Dullstroom

Middelburg Rotary Club had the privilege to had out 70 blankets to the Epilepsy Centre in Dullstroom.

Rotarian’s Solly, Mariette, Elaine and Alta handed out these blankets to the much appreciative members at the centre. This centre services in the communities where their community developers work to develop, capacitate and train people in stimulation groups, support groups and income generating projects. Making people aware of their rights, to advocate on their behalf to gain knowledge of self management and life skills.

Dullstroom Care Centre in Mpumalanga province maintains the social, physical and psychological well being of individuals who, for a variety of reasons are not able to live independently of with their families. The goal is to improve their independence and quality of life.

Middelburg Rotary handed out 40 blankets at the Special Creative Sunday on the 29th May, in Avalon Mhluzi to the really needy people.

Rotarian Pieter de Wet and his family went to the Special Creative Sunday and handed out much needed blankets. The need is so great in Avalon and sometimes we feel overwhelmed by it, but Middelburg Rotary continues to do what is in our hearts, to serve the people.

Winter Warmer - Blanket Project

Greater Middelburg Workshop for the Disabled


Middelburg Rotary Club donated 30 blankets to the Greater Middelburg Disabled centre in Meyer Street. Rotarian Alta helped to hand out the blankets for the centre. 70 Members with various disabilities visit this centre daily. Daily activities are planned for the members and they receive 2 meals every day. They also facilitate a school project for slow learners. This centre is in much need of assistance with funding for the many challenges they face daily.

Eastdene Feeding Scheme


On 27th May Middelburg Rotary Club, represented by Ashrif Latib and Alta Baartman handed out 65 blankets to pensioners at the Eastdene Centre. This feeding scheme has been running for as long as Eastdene Centre exists. Pensioners come early in the morning to receive food from the Eastdene shop owners. Their care and generosity is clearly visible when you visit the centre on a Friday morning from 9h00.
