Middelburg Rotary Club delivered 100 blankets to the MHBC which is a non-profit organisation based in Middelburg Mhluzi Township. This organisation was founded in September 1999 with the aim to educate, care and support the terminally and/or chronically ill-, orphans and vulnerable children.

Presently the organisation has 14 volunteers, 8 board members and 250 orphans, terminally and chronically ill persons.

The children greeted Rotarians Alta and Albert with song and dance when they delivered these blankets to the centre. Eunice Mtsweni Centre Manager blessed Rotary and Wolma Poultry Farm transport sponsor, for the wonderful work in their community and praised our big delivery of blankets we supplied to the centre.

An event like this makes it an honour to be a Rotarian.

BLANKET PROJECT - WINTER WARMER MIDDELBURG

The Middelburg Rotary Club had a warm and wonderful experience on Friday night 6 May 2011 handing out 72 blankets to the underpriviledged.

Rotarians put together a much appreciated project for the underprivileged people living on the streets of Middelburg in the winter cold.

The whole story started with a truck load of Rotarians, SAP escort and the Ann’s food parcels. We searched for the homeless and handed them all warm blankets and food parcels.

The warm smiles and appreciation on their faces was worth every minute we spend looking for them in the cold.
